Frequently Asked Questions

Cockspur window handle wedges and striker plates are used to secure cockspur handles on uPVC, aluminium, or timber windows. They act as the fixing point that the handle locks onto, helping keep the window tightly closed and secure.

These wedges are designed for cockspur handles, but compatibility depends on the step height and existing fitting. Always check your current measurements to ensure a proper fit before purchasing.

Yes, replacing striker plates is a simple DIY task. Most installations only require basic tools, and swapping them over can quickly restore proper window function and security.

Replacing worn wedges improves window security, ensures a tighter seal against drafts, and allows the handle to operate smoothly. This helps extend the lifespan of your window hardware and maintain energy efficiency.

Signs include a loose handle, difficulty closing the window, or the handle not gripping properly. Worn or damaged wedges can affect window security and sealing. If you're unsure, you can always get advice via the Contact Us.
