A sash jammer is a small swivelling arm screwed to the frame of a uPVC door or window: swing it across the opening sash and the door physically cannot be forced open, even if the lock is bypassed. It's one of the cheapest, most effective secondary security devices available.
Fit two per door — one high, one low on the opening side — so force is resisted at both ends of the sash. Windows normally take one on the opening edge, or two on larger sashes. They're inexpensive enough to do every accessible opening.
Yes — police crime-prevention teams commonly recommend them for uPVC doors because they defeat lock snapping and handle attacks: even with the cylinder destroyed, the jammed sash won't open. Use them alongside, not instead of, an anti-snap cylinder for layered security.
Screw the baseplate to the fixed frame beside the opening sash using the self-tapping screws provided, positioned so the arm swings across the sash face. Two screws, five minutes, no special tools — just check the arm clears handles and hinges before drilling.
