Full multipoint lock units available in-store only—ideal for those needing a complete replacement rather than just the gearbox.
Key Collection Highlights:
-
Full Units: Not available for shipping due to their length (approx. 2 meters), but Home Secure stocks a large variety at their physical store. Popular brands include Avocet, ERA, GU, Fullex, Yale, Winkhaus, and others. Bring photos or your existing lock for precise matching.
-
Gearbox-Only Replacements: Cost-effective and easy to install alternatives to full strip replacements—perfect when only the central mechanism has failed.
Why Choose Multipoint Locks?
-
These locks secure doors at multiple points (typically three—deadbolt, top hook, and bottom hook), delivering a tighter seal, enhanced security, and improved durability.
-
If your lock shows signs of failure—like slack handles, excessive force required to operate, or worn mechanisms—you may only need to replace the centre gearbox, not the whole assembly.
User-Friendly Installation:
-
For gearbox replacements, ensure accurate matching by measuring key dimensions such as the Backset (distance from the front edge of the lock to the centre of the keyhole) and PZ (distance from the spindle to keyhole centre).
-
Home Secure offers guides and blog posts to help you identify your lock type and select a proper replacement.
uPVC Door Lock Mechanism — How Multipoint Locks Work
A uPVC multipoint door lock is the full locking mechanism fitted inside the edge of your uPVC or composite door. When you lift the handle and turn the key, the central gearbox activates multiple locking points — typically a deadbolt in the centre with hooks or rollers at the top and bottom. This creates a tight seal at three or more points along the door frame, providing significantly more security than a single-point lock.
If your door handle feels slack, the lock is stiff, or the locking points no longer engage properly, the central gearbox may need replacing. In many cases you can replace just the gearbox rather than the entire locking strip, saving both time and money.

Not sure which gearbox fits your door? Our step-by-step guide on how to identify your uPVC multipoint door lock will help you measure the backset, PZ and spindle type so you can order the correct replacement with confidence.
Full Multipoint Door Lock Units — Available In-Store
Full multipoint locking strips are approximately 2 metres long and are not available for online delivery due to their size. However, we carry one of the largest ranges of full multipoint lock units in the North West at our Liverpool store.
We stock full units from Avocet, ERA, GU, Fullex, Yale, Winkhaus and many other leading brands. If you need a complete multipoint lock replacement, visit us at Home Secure, Unit 5 Brookfield Drive, Aintree, Liverpool L9 7AJ.
We recommend bringing your existing lock or photos of the faceplate and brand markings so we can match it precisely. Our team can also advise whether a gearbox-only replacement might solve your problem at a fraction of the cost.
How to Know If You Need a New Multipoint Lock or Just a Gearbox
If your uPVC door is not locking properly, the problem is usually one of three things: the euro cylinder, the gearbox, or the full multipoint mechanism.
Here is how to diagnose it:
The key turns but nothing happens — the euro cylinder may need replacing. Browse our euro cylinder locks for anti-snap, TS007 3-Star rated replacements.
The handle lifts but the locking points do not engage — the central gearbox has likely failed. Browse our replacement gearboxes for a cost-effective fix.
Multiple locking points are damaged or the faceplate strip is bent — the full multipoint unit may need replacing. Visit our Liverpool store for expert matching.
