Product overview

The Home Secure™ uPVC door weather bar is a peel-and-stick rain deflector for the bottom of external doors. It throws rainwater away from the base of the door so it doesn't run under into the threshold. It suits uPVC, composite, aluminium and timber external doors.

Key features

  • Peel-and-stick fitting: factory-applied double-sided high-bond tape on the back. No screws and no drilling.
  • 870mm long: cut it down to size with a hacksaw if needed.
  • Silicone included to seal the top edge for a neat, watertight finish.
  • White PVC, to match most uPVC doors.

How to fit a door weather bar

  1. Clean and degrease the door surface, and let it dry.
  2. Measure and cut the weather bar to width if needed.
  3. Dry-position it about 10–15mm above the threshold and mark lightly.
  4. Peel off the tape liner, line it up with your marks and press firmly along the full length.
  5. Run a thin bead of the silicone supplied along the top edge.

Will a weather bar fix my leak?

A weather bar stops wind-driven rain running down the door and under it. If water is pooling at the threshold, clear the drainage holes first. If the leak is at a corner or you can see daylight, the seals may be worn or the door may have dropped. Our guide uPVC door weather bar: what it does and how to fit one has a table to help you work out which.
