Quick answers

How do I stop rain coming in under my front door?

First clear the drainage holes in the threshold, which costs nothing and is a common cause. Then check the seals, whether the door has dropped, and the sealant round the frame. If rain only gets in during heavy weather, fit a weather bar to the bottom of the door.

Do I need a weather bar on my door?

A weather bar fixes leaks that only happen in heavy or wind-driven rain: rain running down the door drips off beyond the threshold instead of being driven under it. If water gets in every time it rains, check the drainage holes, seals and door alignment first.

How do I find the right replacement door or window seal?

There are lots of seal profiles, so order a sample pack to match yours, then buy the length you need. Replacement seals push into the existing groove.
