Unlike many smart cameras that lock essential features behind a monthly fee, the Yale Smart Outdoor Camera stores 2–4 days of motion-triggered footage directly on the device. Download clips of 10–60 seconds directly to your smartphone — no cloud account required.
For those who want extended coverage, an optional subscription plan unlocks 30-day cloud storage and advanced AI detection (vehicle, pet and package recognition), with a free one-month trial available through the Yale Home app.
Flexible Power — Your Way
The camera runs on an integrated rechargeable battery for completely wire-free installation. If you'd prefer a continuous power supply, you can connect it via the Yale Outdoor USB Cable or add the Yale Solar Panel Charger (both sold separately) to keep the camera permanently powered without routine recharging.
This flexibility also makes the Yale Smart Outdoor Camera suitable for indoor use — useful for hallways, garages or outbuildings where a fixed security camera may not be practical.
Smart Motion Intelligence
Built-in AI allows the camera to distinguish between people and other movement, so you only receive alerts that matter. Set up privacy zones to black out neighbouring properties or public areas from recordings, and use motion scheduling to suppress notifications during regular, expected activity — such as your car arriving home each evening.
The integrated spotlight can be triggered automatically when motion is detected, acting as a visible deterrent before any incident escalates. The siren can also be activated manually through the app at any time.
